What does your "yoga" look like?

Here's a little confession for you:
I haven't been to a yoga class in weeks. I don't even remember the last time I unrolled my mat (or even where it is!). My body is sore and tired and stiff. I grunt and groan when I try to touch my toes. 🙈
AND, I am so happy and exactly where I want to be. My yoga hasn't stopped, it has only taken a different shape. My "mat" has, too. From a little rubber rectangle to a kayak, a gorgeous grey mare, a pole, a plane, a beach, a surfboard. Any time I show up for myself and do something that feeds my soul -- that's the yoga.
This is what my Yoga looks like these days:
Sometimes it's handstands and backbends and warriors; other times it's dancing and sunshine and new cities. Being truly present in these moments -- regardless of what shape I am in -- is the real yoga.
Yes, my body feels different and I can no longer find ease in certain yoga poses; and I'm okay with that. I'll take big smiles and belly laughs with friends over fancy arm balances and hip openers ANY day. 😘
Don't feel pressured to make your Yoga look or feel a certain way. Ask yourself these three questions in any given moment to determine whether or not you're doing yoga:
Am I present?
Am I being kind?
Am I at peace?
If you answer "Yes" to all 3, congratulations, you're a Yogi. Now breathe, and continue being You.
